Marriage licenses are issued in the County Clerk's office. Both bride and groom must appear together. The license is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and the license fee is non-refundable. The license must be used within the State of Kentucky.

Age requirements

18 or older. Both parties must be present need one of the following:

• a state drivers license
• a state picture I.D.
• a certified U.S. birth certificate (a passport, visa, or green card with picture-translated into english)

16 or 17. Both parties must be present and be a resident of Campbell County need certified copy of:

• birth certificate (proof of residency school records, state drivers license, medical records, etc)
• parent or guardian must sign premission form
• show court orders for legal custody
• show their I.D.

Under 16. Need everything as age 16 and 17 plus, the female must be pregnant and have a court order from the district court.

Procedures

Information Required:

• Name & address
• Date of birth & age
• Place of Birth (If in KY give county, in another state give state)
• Father's name
• Mother's first & maiden name
• Current status of bride & groom (Single, Divorced, Annulled, Widowed)
• Number of previous marriages of bride & groom
• Occupations of bride & groom
• Race of bride & groom
• Whether bride & groom are related (First cousins are not permitted to marry in Kentucky)
• Date of marriage

You may view and print a copy of the marriage application and complete prior to coming to the clerk's office. Just click on  marriage application. Application must be signed & sworn before the county clerk issuing the license.

Filing Fees: (The total fee is $35.50, fees include the following)

• $24.00 ($14.00 clerk, $10.00 Spouse Abuse)
• $5.00 Certified copy mailed to couple
• $1.00 Postage/Copy mailed to State Registrar
• $1.00 Postage/Copy mailed to Couple
• $4.50 Legal process fee
